from today's bible study

ZECHARIAH 4-6

'You can't force these things. They only come about through my Spirit,'

i can't force healing, it only comes about with the spirit

i love this expression, day of small beginnings:
Does anyone dare despise this day of small beginnings?

The ones going north are conveying a sense of my Spirit, serene and secure. No more trouble from that direction."

if i led myself be led from the spirit i am serene and secure and have a sense of direction

All this follows as you put your minds to a life of responsive obedience to the voice of your God."

god has to be my priority and everything else will follow

LUKE 12

Save your fear for God, who holds your entire life—body and soul—in his hands.

8-9"Stand up for me among the people you meet and the Son of Man will stand up for you before all God's angels. But if you pretend you don't know me, do you think I'll defend you before God's angels?
10"If you bad-mouth the Son of Man out of misunderstanding or ignorance, that can be overlooked. But if you're knowingly attacking God himself, taking aim at the Holy Spirit, that won't be overlooked.

21"That's what happens when you fill your barn with Self and not with God."

let me fill my life with god, not with self!

If God gives such attention to the wildflowers, most of them never even seen, don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you?

scriptures like that are hard to swallow for, god really loves me like that if i let him?

29-32"What I'm trying to do here is get you to relax, not be so preoccupied with getting so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Don't be afraid of missing out. You're my dearest friends! The Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself.
33-34"Be generous. Give to the poor. Get yourselves a bank that can't go bankrupt, a bank in heaven far from bankrobbers, safe from embezzlers, a bank you can bank on. It's obvious, isn't it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being.

It doesn't matter what time of the night he arrives; they're awake—and so blessed!
Just when you don't expect him, the Son of Man will show up."

LET ME BE READY AND MY FAMILY, TOO!

47-48"The servant who knows what his master wants and ignores it, or insolently does whatever he pleases, will be thoroughly thrashed. But if he does a poor job through ignorance, he'll get off with a slap on the hand. Great gifts mean great responsibilities; greater gifts, greater responsibilities!

I CAN'T USE IGNORANCE AS AN EXCUSE!

Do you think I came to smooth things over and make everything nice? Not so. I've come to disrupt and confront!

JESUS IS NOT A COMGORT GOD, MY FAITH WILL BE STRETCHED NOT COMFORTED!

from today's bible study

ZECHARIAH 1

'Come back to me and I'll come back to you.

I am in a very doubtful mood today, thinking that i'll never make it, that the progrees i made is due to my efforts and not to god, that i do all this stuff of faith business to no avail!

ZECHARIAH 2

10"Shout and celebrate, Daughter of Zion! I'm on my way. I'm moving into your neighborhood!" God's Decree.

This makes me want to shout, god is moving in my neighborhood, hallelujah!

ZECHARIAH 3

"I, God, rebuke you, Accuser! I rebuke you and choose Jerusalem. Surprise! Everything is going up in flames, but I reach in and pull out Jerusalem!"

NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER

10"'At that time, everyone will get along with one another, with friendly visits across the fence, friendly visits on one another's porches.'"

SOUNDS LIKE MITFORD!

luke11

-6Then he said, "Imagine what would happen if you went to a friend in the middle of the night and said, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread. An old friend traveling through just showed up, and I don't have a thing on hand.'
7"The friend answers from his bed, 'Don't bother me. The door's locked; my children are all down for the night; I can't get up to give you anything.'
8"But let me tell you, even if he won't get up because he's a friend, if you stand your ground, knocking and waking all the neighbors, he'll finally get up and get you whatever you need.
9"Here's what I'm saying: Ask and you'll get; Seek and you'll find; Knock and the door will open.
10-13"Don't bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need
. This is not a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we're in. If your little boy asks for a serving of fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? If your little girl asks for an egg, do you trick her with a spider? As bad as you are, you wouldn't think of such a thing—you're at least decent to your own children.
And don't you think the Father who conceived you in love will give the Holy Spirit when you ask him?"

33-36"No one lights a lamp, then hides it in a drawer. It's put on a lamp stand so those entering the room have light to see where they're going. Your eye is a lamp, lighting up your whole body. If you live wide-eyed in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar. Keep your eyes open, your lamp burning, so you don't get musty and murky. Keep your life as well-lighted as your best-lighted room."

from today's bible study

HAGGAI 1-2

9-11"And why?" (This is a Message from God-of-the-Angel-Armies, remember.) "Because while you've run around, caught up with taking care of your own houses, my Home is in ruins. That's why. Because of your stinginess. And so I've given you a dry summer and a skimpy crop. I've matched your tight-fisted stinginess by decreeing a season of drought, drying up fields and hills, withering gardens and orchards, stunting vegetables and fruit. Nothing—not man or woman, not animal or crop—is going to thrive."

YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!

In listening to Haggai, they honored God.

this made me switch off RealPlayer

"'Yes, get to work! For I am with you.' The God-of-the-Angel-Armies is speaking! 'Put into action the word I covenanted with you when you left Egypt. I'm living and breathing among you right now. Don't be timid. Don't hold back.'

i believe that god is with me!

15-17"'Think back. Before you set out to lay the first foundation stones for the rebuilding of my Temple, how did it go with you? Isn't it true that your foot-dragging, halfhearted efforts at rebuilding the Temple of God were reflected in a sluggish, halfway return on your crops—half the grain you were used to getting, half the wine? I hit you with drought and blight and hail. Everything you were doing got hit. But it didn't seem to faze you. You continued to ignore me.' God's Decree.
18-19"'Now think ahead from this same date—this twenty-fourth day of the ninth month. Think ahead from when the Temple rebuilding was launched. Has anything in your fields—vine, fig tree, pomegranate, olive tree—failed to flourish? From now on you can count on a blessing.'"

SEEK HIS KINGDOM FIRST!

LUKE 10

"What a huge harvest! And how few the harvest hands. So on your knees; ask the God of the Harvest to send harvest hands.

I NEED TO PRAY MORE!

16"The one who listens to you, listens to me. The one who rejects you, rejects me. And rejecting me is the same as rejecting God, who sent me."

See what I've given you? Safe passage as you walk on snakes and scorpions, and protection from every assault of the Enemy. No one can put a hand on you. All the same, the great triumph is not in your authority over evil, but in God's authority over you and presence with you. Not what you do for God but what God does for you—that's the agenda for rejoicing."

21At that, Jesus rejoiced, exuberant in the Holy Spirit. "I thank you, Father, Master of heaven and earth,

Safe passage as you walk on snakes and scorpions, and protection from every assault of the Enemy. No one can put a hand on you

i claim this for me and pray this over me!

41-42The Master said, "Martha, dear Martha, you're fussing far too much and getting yourself worked up over nothing. One thing only is essential, and Mary has chosen it—it's the main course, and won't be taken from her."

daniel 12

3 "'Men and women who have lived wisely and well will shine brilliantly, like the cloudless, star-strewn night skies. And those who put others on the right path to life will glow like stars forever.

13 "And you? Go about your business without fretting or worrying. Relax. When it's all over, you will be on your feet to receive your reward."

luke 6

Your task is to be true, not popular.

When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer for that person.

If someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant life. No more tit-for-tat stuff. Live generously.

31-34"Here is a simple rule of thumb for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you; then grab the initiative and do it for them!

35-36"I tell you, love your enemies. Help and give without expecting a return. You'll never—I promise—regret it. Live out this God-created identity the way our Father lives toward us, generously and graciously, even when we're at our worst.
Our Father is kind; you be kind.

Give away your life; you'll find life given back, but not merely given back—given back with bonus and blessing. Giving, not getting, is the way. Generosity begets generosity."

These words I speak to you are not mere additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundation words, words to build a life on.
48-49"If you work the words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who dug deep and laid the foundation of his house on bedrock. When the river burst its banks and crashed against the house, nothing could shake it; it was built to last. But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don't work them into your life, you are like a dumb carpenter who built a house but skipped the foundation. When the swollen river came crashing in, it collapsed like a house of cards. It was a total loss."

from today's bible study:

daniel 9

In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, was meditating on the Scriptures that gave, according to the Word of God to the prophet Jeremiah, the number of years that Jerusalem had to lie in ruins, namely, seventy. I turned to the Master God, asking for an answer—praying earnestly, fasting from meals, wearing rough penitential burlap, and kneeling in the ashes. I poured out my heart, baring my soul to God, my God:
4-8 "'O Master, great and august God. You never waver in your covenant commitment, never give up on those who love you and do what you say.

i need to meditate more and find the last thought very comforting!

"'Master, you are our God, for you delivered your people from the land of Egypt in a show of power

We know it's our fault that this has happened, all because of our sins and our parents' sins, and now we're an embarrassment to everyone around us. We're a blot on the neighborhood. So listen, God, to this determined prayer of your servant. Have mercy on your ruined Sanctuary. Act out of who you are, not out of what we are

From the moment you decided to humble yourself to receive understanding, your prayer was heard

'Don't be afraid, friend. Peace. Everything is going to be all right. Take courage. Be strong.'

this was spoken to daniel but i take it for me!

luke 5
Your cleansed and obedient life, not your words, will bear witness to what I have done

The healing power of God was on him.

Impressed by their bold belief,

I'm here inviting outsiders, not insiders—an invitation to a changed life, changed inside and out."

3-4 If you, God, kept records on wrongdoings, who would stand a chance? As it turns out, forgiveness is your habit, and that's why you're worshiped. 5-6 I pray to God—my life a prayer— and wait for what he'll say and do. from today's devotinal: be very courageous

september 17 - Be Courageous
"Be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest." (Joshua 1:7)

Dear Delumeau, Living a life of faith takes courage. Most people don't realize it, but it does! It takes courage to stand up in the face of sickness and declare you're healed by the stripes of Jesus. It takes courage to believe for prosperity and put your last dime in the offering plate when poverty is staring you in the face. There are going to be some days when you'd rather pull the covers over your head and hide than take another faith stand against the devil. But you can't. Because the battle of faith isn't fought once and then forgotten. If you want to keep living in victory, you have to fight it again and again. There's no way around it. Of course, some of God's people still try to find one. The Israelites, for example. They thought their battles should be over when they crossed the Red Sea. So when they heard reports of giants living in the Promised Land, they decided they couldn't face the fight. Their courage failed them. So they took a 40-year detour through the wilderness. But you know what? They still couldn't avoid that fight. When the time came for the next generation to enter the Promised Land, the giants were still there! This time, however, they found the courage to face them.

Where did they find it? In the Word of God. Their leader, Joshua, had obeyed the instruction of the Lord and kept that Word on his mind and in his heart day and night. He'd meditated on it and let it constantly remind him that God was on their side. If you're going to fight the good fight of faith to the finish, you'll have to do just like Joshua did. You'll have to continually draw courage from the Word of God. So make up your mind to do it. Get into that Word and let it change you from a coward to an overcomer. Then march into battle and slay the giants in your land.

loving god

from an article by kenneth copeland "let the world see jesus"

I was too scripturally illiterate to realize it at the time, but I had actually stepped out on a promise of the Word of God. By choosing to love the Lord and saying it on purpose by faith, I'd activated the spiritual principle Jesus revealed in John 14:21: "He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him" (New King James Version). The moment I confessed my love for Jesus, I experienced the love of the Father and Jesus manifest Himself to me. That same thing will happen to you! So if you want to develop your love for the Lord, begin by telling Him over and over again, all day long, "Lord, I love You with all my heart. I love You with all my soul, with all my will, my mind and my strength." When you wake up in the morning say, "Oh Jesus, I love You so much today. I commit everything I am and everything I have to You. How can I serve You today, Lord? What can I do for You?" I dare you (or as we say in Texas, I double-dog dare you) to do that for the next 30 days and see what happens in your life. If you'll start every day like that, you'll get a revelation of the love of God beyond anything you've ever known before. You may not get all emotional like I did…or you may. But either way, the love of God will respond in you and the tide of it will rise higher and higher. If you continue to do that, eventually, when the devil tries to throw some fearful, wicked thought at you, you'll just laugh at him. You'll say, "Ha, ha, ha.Satan you can't scare me with that stuff. I know how much God loves me. He loves me just as much as He does Jesus. He takes good care of me. So you might as well get out of here and go peddle that fear somewhere else because I'm not going to buy it anymore!" When you start talking like that the devil flees the scene. Why? Because he knows perfected love casts out fear and fear is the only weapon he has. When fear is eliminated, it's over for him. He's finished. First the Father—Then the Children
Once you start loving the Lord and receiving His love that way, you are going to love others. It's inevitable! First John 5:1 leaves no doubt about that. It says plainly, "Every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him." In other words, every one who loves the Father also loves the children! We start off loving God because He first loved us. We practice our love on Him and we end up falling in love with everybody around us. As His love begins to flush the fear out of us, suddenly we can drop the barriers that have separated us from other people. We aren't afraid to love them anymore because we know they can't hurt us. We are safe in the love of God. As a result, we can abandon ourselves to each other. We can forget about our own protection and preservation and just lose ourselves in helping meet the needs of those around us. We can draw on the ministry of Jesus—not just to meet our own needs or to prove we're spiritual hotshots—but because we need His power to take care of others. We need it to help them and heal them and get them free! It doesn't make any difference how impossible a situation might be, when we have that attitude and that heart of love, the gifts of the Spirit are going to operate. Signs and wonders, healings and miracles are going to break forth. People all over the world—spiritually hungry people—will finally get what they need. They get to see Jesus. They'll see His love. They'll see His life. And they'll see His power. As we grow up in love, we will walk in the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ. We will reveal Him just as He revealed the Father.and the world will see Jesus again!

psalm 145

Psalm 145
David's Praise 1 I lift you high in praise, my God, O my King! and I'll bless your name into eternity.
2 I'll bless you every day, and keep it up from now to eternity.
3 God is magnificent; he can never be praised enough. There are no boundaries to his greatness.
4 Generation after generation stands in awe of your work; each one tells stories of your mighty acts.
5 Your beauty and splendor have everyone talking; I compose songs on your wonders.
6 Your marvelous doings are headline news; I could write a book full of the details of your greatness.
7 The fame of your goodness spreads across the country; your righteousness is on everyone's lips.
8 God is all mercy and grace— not quick to anger, is rich in love.
9 God is good to one and all; everything he does is suffused with grace.
10-11 Creation and creatures applaud you, God; your holy people bless you.
They talk about the glories of your rule, they exclaim over your splendor,
12 Letting the world know of your power for good, the lavish splendor of your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is a kingdom eternal; you never get voted out of office.
God always does what he says, and is gracious in everything he does.
14 God gives a hand to those down on their luck, gives a fresh start to those ready to quit.
15 All eyes are on you, expectant; you give them their meals on time.
16 Generous to a fault, you lavish your favor on all creatures.
17 Everything God does is right— the trademark on all his works is love.
18 God's there, listening for all who pray, for all who pray and mean it.
19 He does what's best for those who fear him— hears them call out, and saves them.

when i read something like this i am afraid rightaway, maybe it is best for me to stay like that, but i do not want to stay like that! on the other hand i keep improving and the lord is healing me and "healing is his will and part of his redemptive plan"!

20 God sticks by all who love him, but it's all over for those who don't.
21 My mouth is filled with God's praise. Let everything living bless him, bless his holy name from now to eternity!

ezek 33:

'As sure as I am the living God, I take no pleasure from the death of the wicked. I want the wicked to change their ways and live. Turn your life around! Reverse your evil ways!

It's true that I tell good people, "Live! Be alive!"

as i am always looking for a blue print for living, i quote this:

14-16 "'On the other hand, if I tell a wicked person, "You'll die for your wicked life," and he repents of his sin and starts living a righteous and just life—being generous to the down-and-out, restoring what he had stolen, cultivating life-nourishing ways that don't hurt others—he'll live. He won't die. None of his sins will be kept on the books. He's doing what's right, living a good life. He'll live.

miracles only happen to people who expect miracles, let me expect your glory:

22 The evening before the survivor arrived, the hand of God had been on me and restored my speech. By the time he arrived in the morning I was able to speak. I could talk again.

unter gottes schutz

Psalm 91 (GNB)Unter Gottes Schutz

taking a faith stand!

today's devotional:

September 7 - Strike It Rich "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." (Galatians 3:29)

One of the problems that hung around me for years was poverty. But I remember the day I decided I wasn't going to be poor anymore. I was reading in the Word where it says that the blessing of Abraham has come upon the Gentiles by Jesus Christ (Gal. 3:14). Then I got down to the twenty-ninth verse where it says, "If ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE." Suddenly the truth hit me. I got so excited I could hardly stand myself. I turned back over to Deuteronomy 28 and--line by line--I read those promised blessings. "Blessed in the city, blessed in the country. Blessed going out, blessed coming in. Blessed in your barns, blessed in your fields, blessed in all the works of your hands." Man, I had struck it rich! I'd been going to school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and I was living in a dumpy little house nobody would want to live in. But when I read those promises in the Word, I saw the light. I realized God already had redeemed me from the curse of poverty. Well, that afternoon in my back bedroom, I took my Bible in my hand and I said: "I want to announce to Almighty God in heaven and to Jesus Christ of Nazareth, to all the angels of heaven, to all the demons of hell, and to anybody else that cares anything about hearing it, that from this day forward my needs are met according to God's riches in glory by Christ Jesus." I told Him, "I'm standing on Your Word, and I'm looking to You to take care of me. I'll never ask a man for a dollar." That was many years ago and I never have. You know why? Because that decision connected me to the power of God. It'll do the same for you.

persistence breaks resistance

today's devotional:

September 1 - Perseverance Gets Results "I tell you, although he will not get up and supply him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his shameless persistence and insistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs." (Luke 11:8, Amp)
Dear Delumeau, If, as God tells us in 1 Timothy 2:4, it's His will for all men to be saved, why aren't we seeing more of the masses of lost people born again every day? Have you ever wondered that? I have...and as I've sought the Lord about it, I've come to realize that, for the most part, it's because those of us who are already saved don't pray persistently for those who aren't. Instead of persevering--staying before the Father, praying for them to receive the bread of salvation--like the man in Luke 11:8 did for his friend, when we don't see immediate results, we simply give up and go home. What we don't realize is this: Perseverance is the key to success in intercession! Why? It's certainly not because you have to change God's mind. He never changes. His mind's made up. He wants all men saved. The reason you have to persevere in intercession is to put pressure on the demonic forces that are trying to keep God's will from being accomplished. Those forces must be broken down through prayer so that strongholds are destroyed and spiritual blinders are removed from the spiritual eyes of the people you're praying for. You see, God will not go against the will of people. But He will move through your intercession to reveal Himself. Through your persistent prayers, He will bring them to the knowledge of their need for Him. Then they'll reach out for Him and spiritual rebirth can take place! If you're sitting around waiting on God to save Aunt Mary or Uncle Jim or your best friend...stop sitting around! Get busy interceding for them. Persevere in prayer. Pray the prayer in Ephesians 1:16-23 for them, refusing to give up until they're safely inside God's kingdom. Jesus has already laid down His life so that they can be saved. The question is, will you?
